This past Thursday, April 12, members of the local community and schools gathered at our new home community in Chico – Tuscany Village – to celebrate and honor the efforts of local Chico Schools. A donation ceremony took place, concluding the first half of donations made from our “Discovery Gives Back” program, where for every home sold at Tuscany Village, Discovery Homes will donate $1,000 to a local school of the homeowner’s choice.
This year, a total of $14,000 was donated to various schools including:
Notre Dame, Hooker Oak Elementary, Sierra View Elementary, King’s Christian, McManus Elementary, Emma Wilson, Shasta Elementary and Inspire High School.
Inspiring and motivating words were spoken by Jackie Seeno, Albert Seeno III and School Board President, Andrea Lerner. At the end of the Ceremony, Albert Seeno III surprised everyone by DOUBLING the donation for a total of $28,000 to local Chico Schools!!!
“Discovery Gives Back” will be an ongoing program between Discovery Homes and the Chico Community. The next Ceremony is slated for the Fall of 2012. Thank you to all who came out to support, especially members of the Chico Unified School District and local community members.
